I have just returned from paddling The Outer Hebrides in Northwest Scotland. The paddling was great, being away from the media and family and friends always gives a perspective that you can’t really get at home.
Living in the countries we do we are very lucky to have the free time and money to be able to have such a great recreational pastime.

Anticipation was building as we pulled into Grand Marais Michigan for the Great Lakes Sea Kayak Symposium. The wind had been blowing out of the north all day and conditions looked good for picking up some rare summertime surfing on the big lake. Superior did not disappoint, we got a few hours of good surf time in playing the reflecting waves off the big breakwater at the west end of the harbor entrance.
