Kelly first paddled a sea kayak in her native waters of Rhode Island and immediately fell in love with the freedom to paddle wild and beautiful coastlines around the world. After completing a Master's and Doctorate in Oceanography, she chose to share her passion for the marine environment through paddlesports.
Kelly is an accomplished paddlesports coach and holds awards with the American Canoe
Association and Paddle UK, including ACA Level 5 Advanced Open Water Coastal Kayak Instructor and BC Advanced Sea Kayak Coach & Leader. She loves sharing her enthusiasm for kayaking with others and strives to help paddlers at all levels build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their personal goals. When coaching, she encourages an immersive and playful approach, seeking to create a relaxed, supportive atmosphere for her students.
Kelly attributes many of her most memorable life experiences to paddlesports, including a multi-week coaching and sea kayaking adventure in Taiwan, exploring South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula as a polar expedition guide, and representing the United States in the World Surf Kayak Championships. Kelly's home is now the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales where, together with her partner, she owns and operates Flow State Adventures. In her free time, you will find Kelly surfing Anglesey's tide races, trail running in Snowdonia, or white
water kayaking in the UK and the Alps.
